MATT MOLLOY: MATT MOLLOY
Matt Molloy: flute
Donal Lunny: bouzouki
Molloy's classic "black album" from 1976, released when the well-known Roscommon flute player, formerly with the Bothy Band and now with the Chieftains, was at the height of his musical powers. Molloy's extraordinary technique and musical invention set a new benchmark in Irish traditional flute playing, as did Lunny's exciting but always tasteful accompaniments.
