Sharon started playing traditional Irish music at the age of six. She attended fiddle (violin...whatever you want to call it) lessons for some years and picked up the tin - whistle along the way.
She was a part of Kinsealy and Sean Treacy Comhaltas for a number of years where she competed in various fleadhs and feiseanna around Ireland with other musicians. A few years later, she took up the guitar and formed a girl rock group with some friends named 'The Wunderbraz.'
At the age of 17, she met Tommy Byrne of 'The Big Jigs,' and began to play various venues around Dublin. She recorded her debut album 'Inisheer,' at the age of 19. Sharon plays a variety of instruments on the album including fiddle, tin - whistle, flute and banjo.
The album is a collection of her favourite Irish traditional tunes
